Dr. Adam Rutherford

From Chuck D to Chuck D: Evolution, synthetic biology and the story of hip hop

Dr Adam Rutherford is a science writer and broadcaster. He has a degree in evolutionary biology and a PhD in genetics. He writes for the The Guardian and is an editor for the science journal Nature where he makes podcasts and short films about new research. Mostly Adam writes about science, religion and culture but has been known to write about films and games, about which he is a geek.

He has also made a number of documentaries for television and radio covering topics such as MMR and autism, epigenetics, human evolution, astronomy and art, science and cinema and scientific fraud.

His current book ‘Creation: The Origin of Life/ The Future of life’ explores how the most recent breakthroughs in science are solving the mystery of the origin of life whilst giving us the knowledge to design its future
